🔍 The Reality of Bullying in Malaysia
According to UNICEF data, globally a large proportion of youths aged 13–15 have experienced bullying at least once in the past month.
In Malaysia, a survey revealed that about 28% of young people aged 13–24 reported experiencing online bullying.
More recent research found that the prevalence of cyberbullying victimisation among Malaysian adolescents is around 52% in some studies.
Malaysia was ranked second in Asia for youth cyberbullying behind China, and globally the country ranked fifth among peer nations in that category.
What these numbers tell us is: bullying is not a fringe issue — it’s becoming a widespread concern.
For working parents, this means vigilance beyond school hours is crucial.
